It’s the alarm on my smartphone. Time to get up. Even though I stayed up late last night, I feel surprisingly refreshed. The weight that once dragged at the pit of my stomach has lifted, leaving my entire body feeling light.
Afterward, I spent more time confronting my anxiety with Okane-san. It wasn’t an easy process, but curiously, I found myself more at ease, with space to breathe. The “Chain Letter of Misfortune” dream I had—something I had never experienced before—along with the pang of unease triggered by the bank, rooted in past memories, all transformed into a sense of calm and forward-thinking optimism. It was surreal.
Until now, I thought avoiding my anxieties by shifting focus to something fun or positive was the best solution. I’d clung to the kind of “stay positive” advice often touted in self-help books. But now I realize I was wrong.

My gaze drifted to the desk, where I noticed the credit card bill from last month. The letter, which had once seemed suffocatingly heavy, now felt surprisingly light. Picking it up, I slowly opened the envelope and began to review the contents.
“So, I spent this much… But it just means I gained something of value in return,” I murmured.
My eyes softened as I looked at the bill. It no longer represented just financial pressure; instead, it seemed to reflect the traces of my choices and efforts. Where anxiety once consumed me, a natural thought now surfaced: What should I do next?
At that moment, a notification popped up on my smartphone. Opening the message, I saw an email from a client I had been unable to visit yesterday.
“Happy New Year. I look forward to working with you this year as well.”
After the customary New Year’s greeting, the words that followed took my breath away:
“We’ve decided to revisit the project we previously put on hold, as per the CEO’s direction. Could you let us know your availability to discuss the details and resubmit your proposal?”
Staring at the screen, I took a deep breath. Relief and joy welled up inside, filling me completely. Amid this surge of emotions, I could also feel the gentle sense of reassurance that had grown stronger through yesterday’s journey.
“Thank you, Okane-san,” I said, the words escaping without thought.
At that moment—
“Karin.”
That familiar, clear, bell-like sound resonated gently throughout the quiet room.
Okane-san: “Congratulations! Overcoming small anxieties opens the door to a greater flow of abundance.”
“Greater flow…” The words settled deep in my heart. I don’t know what the future holds, but as long as I can hold on to this sense of reassurance, I know I’ll be okay.
