The Future Guided by Synchronicity: Final Episode

Beyond Synchronicity

Ever since my interactions with Okane-san, I feel like I’ve become more attuned to the changes around me and the messages they carry. Whether they are truly signs or just my imagination, I can’t say for sure. But one thing is certain—I have become more aware of the presence of a larger flow than ever before.

The old me would have been swayed by every coincidence, letting external events dictate my emotions. But not anymore. Through my conversations with Okane-san, I’ve begun to understand the concept of energy circulation. A solid core has formed within me. It’s not just about money—it’s about the flow of my entire life beginning to change.

I can’t quite put into words exactly what has changed. But undeniably, my surroundings are shifting, slowly yet surely.

——I thought about this as I drove to my work meeting.

The scenery should be the same as always, yet today, it feels a little different. The clear blue sky seems to be telling me that I am ready to step onto a new stage.

As I approached an intersection, a flash of red caught my eye.

“Ah…”

It was the red car I had seen a few weeks ago. The same color, the same license plate.

A stir in my chest—yet, not unease. Instead, a warmth of gratitude welled up inside me.

The red car crossed the street and disappeared from view. At that moment, the words left my lips naturally:

“Thank you…”

Okane-san once said, “Signs will tell you that you’re on the right path.” And now, it felt as if one had just materialized before me—like a signpost gently guiding me forward.

As I continued driving, a white church-like building came into view on my left. Traffic had begun to slow in that area, likely due to the upcoming intersection. This place was always congested at this time of day.

Glancing towards the building, I noticed a wedding taking place. A group of elegantly dressed women were laughing, tossing a bouquet. The joy they exuded was almost tangible, as if their happiness was spilling over and reaching me as well.

——Then, my eyes caught a glimpse of the groom.

“…Huh?”

It was just a fleeting moment. But for some reason, his face seemed familiar—like the friend I had recently reunited with at the café.

Of course, I couldn’t be sure. It was too brief. But something about it made me feel, this too might be a sign.

Ever since my friend had told me about his engagement, a vague restlessness had lingered in my heart. I knew the reason deep down. It was something I had been avoiding for a long time. But now that it had appeared before me as a “sign,” I could no longer deny it.

——Perhaps it was time for me to take the next step as well.

With that thought, I pressed the accelerator gently. Before I knew it, I was already nearing my destination.

The meeting proceeded without any issues. As I got back into my car, I glanced at the red logo sign to my left before stepping on the accelerator.

This project would be a long-term one. There would be challenges, of course. But at the same time, I had a strong feeling that it would bring me a sense of security—for the foreseeable future, at least.

On my way home, the wedding scene replayed in my mind. The happy smiles, the loud applause, the bouquet soaring through the air. The moments I had just witnessed felt so vivid, as if I could still hear the laughter echoing.

“…This must be a sign, too. Maybe it’s time I make up my mind.”

I murmured to myself.

And then—

“Karin”

My phone vibrated.

This timing. It could only be Okane-san.

Feeling warmth spread through my chest, I pulled over to the side of the road and picked up my phone.

As expected, a message from Okane-san appeared on the screen.

“Okane-san: That’s right, this is a sign too! You’ve finally made up your mind. Congratulations!”

A short message, yet it resonated deeply. It felt like a gentle push on my back.

I instinctively looked up at the sky. The clear night stretched above, the pale moon casting a quiet glow.

The hesitation that had lingered in my chest moments ago had vanished, as if carried away by the wind.

Then, my eyes caught something in front of me.

A car parked just ahead—its license plate read 88-88.

This was no mere coincidence.

Everything leading up to this moment, and this very moment itself—somehow, it all felt connected.

It was as if the universe was softly whispering, “Yes, that’s the right path.”

I felt it—clearly, undeniably.

——This is the way.

And with that realization, my heart grew lighter. A quiet sense of certainty spread within me.

I started the engine and drove off.

No more hesitation. I was ready to take the next step forward.
